Flagship Quad-DAC with Class A Tube and Solid-State Amplification
Sale price$3,249

Description

The iFi Pro iDSD Signature is a flagship reference-class DAC designed to serve as the digital hub of a high-performance audio system. Combining a quad-stack Burr-Brown DAC architecture, network streaming, preamplifier functionality, extensive digital processing options, and powerful headphone outputs, it brings iFi's advanced digital technologies together in a single component.

At the heart of the Pro iDSD Signature is iFi's custom-coded Crysopeia FPGA Digital Engine, which can upsample incoming PCM and DSD audio to DSD512 or DSD1024. Five selectable digital filters — Bit-Perfect, Bit-Perfect+, GTO, Apodising, and Transient Aligned — provide additional control over digital playback.

The fully balanced Class A analogue stage offers three selectable output modes: Solid-State, Tube, and Tube+. Tube mode brings a pair of hand-selected, matched NOS GE5670 valves into the signal path, while Tube+ increases second-order harmonic content by 6dB for listeners who prefer a stronger valve character.

iFi Pro iDSD Signature Reference DAC Headphone Amplifier

Beyond digital-to-analogue conversion, the Pro iDSD Signature supports network playback over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, AirPlay and DLNA/UPnP, along with local playback from USB storage and SD cards. Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs can operate in fixed or variable mode, allowing the unit to connect to an integrated amplifier or preamplifier, or drive a power amplifier directly.

The Signature edition also features an upgraded internal power supply design and includes iFi's iPower Elite external power supply. For listeners building a high-performance digital system around a single versatile source component, the Pro iDSD Signature combines advanced conversion, flexible analogue output options, streaming, and extensive system connectivity in one chassis.

Quad-Stack Burr-Brown DAC Architecture

The Pro iDSD Signature uses four Burr-Brown DAC chips in an interleaved quad-stack configuration. This architecture is designed to provide high linearity, excellent channel separation, and detailed digital-to-analogue conversion while retaining the multi-bit characteristics for which iFi's Burr-Brown implementations are known.

Crysopeia FPGA & DSD1024 Upsampling

iFi's custom-coded Crysopeia FPGA Digital Engine enables real-time upsampling of incoming PCM and DSD audio to DSD512 or DSD1024. It also provides five selectable digital filters — Bit-Perfect, Bit-Perfect+, GTO, Apodising, and Transient Aligned — allowing listeners to choose the processing approach that best suits their system and preferences.

Switchable Solid-State, Tube & Tube+ Modes

The fully balanced Class A analogue stage provides three selectable operating modes.

Solid-State uses iFi's discrete solid-state circuitry for listeners who prefer a direct, neutral presentation.

Tube introduces a pair of hand-selected, matched NOS GE5670 valves into the signal path.

Tube+ builds on Tube mode by increasing second-order harmonic content by 6dB, providing a more pronounced valve character.

The modes can be selected in real time, allowing listeners to tailor the analogue output stage to their system, music, and personal preferences.

Network Streaming & Local Playback

The Pro iDSD Signature can function as a network audio source without requiring a separate streamer. It supports wireless playback over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi as well as wired Ethernet connectivity, with AirPlay and DLNA/UPnP support.

Local music libraries can also be played directly from compatible USB storage devices or SD/SDHC cards, providing several ways to access digital music without relying on a computer as the primary source.

Powerful Headphone Outputs

The Pro iDSD Signature provides single-ended 6.35mm, S-Balanced 3.5mm, and balanced 4.4mm headphone connections. The balanced output delivers more than 4,200mW at 16 ohms and more than 11.7V at 600 ohms, with selectable 0dB, 9dB, and 18dB gain settings.

While the Pro iDSD Signature provides substantial headphone-driving capability, listeners building a system primarily around demanding headphones may also choose to pair it with a dedicated headphone amplifier.

Analogue Outputs & Preamplifier Function

Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA analogue outputs allow the Pro iDSD Signature to integrate with a wide range of HiFi systems.

Variable output enables the front-panel volume control to manage output level, allowing the Pro iDSD Signature to drive a compatible power amplifier directly. Fixed output provides a consistent line-level signal for connection to a preamplifier or integrated amplifier with its own volume control.
