Description
The iFi iDSD Diablo 2 is an ultra-powerful portable DAC and headphone amplifier designed for demanding headphones, high-resolution digital playback, and next-generation xMEMS earphones. Its Burr-Brown True Native® DAC architecture supports PCM up to 768kHz, native DSD512, DXD, and full MQA decoding, while its balanced headphone amplifier delivers up to 5,180mW into 32Ω.
Three power modes—Normal, Turbo, and Nitro—allow the Diablo 2's output to be matched to different headphone requirements, while iEMatch helps optimize performance with highly sensitive IEMs. A dedicated xMEMS mode provides the specialized bias voltage required by compatible solid-state micro-speaker technology.
Bluetooth 5.4 with Qualcomm QCC518x processing adds aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, LDAC, LHDC/HWA, aptX, AAC, and SBC wireless playback. Wired digital connectivity includes USB-C and S/PDIF optical/coaxial, while a 4.4mm analogue connection expands its use with compatible analogue sources.

A 4,800mAh lithium-polymer battery supports portable operation, while balanced 4.4mm and single-ended 6.3mm headphone outputs accommodate a broad range of headphones. With extreme output capability, extensive format support, lossless Bluetooth, and xMEMS compatibility, the Diablo 2 is built for listeners who want desktop-level driving capability in a transportable design.
True Native High-Resolution Conversion
The Burr-Brown True Native® DAC architecture supports PCM up to 768kHz, native DSD512, DXD, and full MQA decoding. PCM and DSD are handled in their native formats, providing extensive compatibility with high-resolution music libraries and playback software.
Extreme Headphone Power
The 4.4mm balanced headphone output delivers up to 5,180mW into 32Ω and more than 19.2V into 600Ω, giving the Diablo 2 substantial current and voltage capability for demanding planar magnetic and high-impedance headphones. Its 6.3mm single-ended output delivers up to 2,450mW into 32Ω.

Normal, Turbo & Nitro Power Modes
Three selectable power modes allow the Diablo 2 to accommodate headphones with very different requirements. Normal mode is intended for easier-to-drive headphones, Turbo increases available drive, and Nitro unleashes the Diablo 2's highest output capability for particularly demanding loads.
Dedicated xMEMS Support
A dedicated xMEMS mode allows the Diablo 2 to drive compatible xMEMS solid-state micro-speaker technology. Through the 4.4mm balanced output, the Diablo 2 provides more than 28Vpp along with the specialized DC bias required by compatible xMEMS devices.
Lossless & Hi-Res Bluetooth
Bluetooth 5.4 powered by Qualcomm's QCC518x platform supports aptX Lossless for lossless CD-quality wireless audio, along with aptX Adaptive, LDAC, LHDC/HWA, aptX, AAC, and SBC. LDAC and LHDC/HWA provide support for high-resolution wireless playback up to 96kHz on compatible devices.
