The iFi GO pod Max is a wearable Bluetooth DAC and headphone amplifier designed to turn compatible detachable-cable IEMs into a high-quality wireless listening system. Rather than replacing your existing IEMs with conventional true-wireless earbuds, each GO pod Max connects directly to an IEM and provides its own Bluetooth reception, digital conversion, and amplification.
At its core is Qualcomm's QCC5181 Bluetooth platform with support for aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX, LDAC, LHDC/HWA, AAC, and SBC. When paired with a compatible aptX Lossless source, the GO pod Max supports CD-quality lossless Bluetooth playback. Other high-quality codecs provide broad compatibility when aptX Lossless is unavailable.
Each pod incorporates dedicated Bluetooth, DAC, and amplification stages and automatically detects the impedance of connected IEMs. Four impedance settings — 16Ω, 32Ω, 64Ω, and 300Ω — allow the output to be matched automatically to a wide range of compatible IEMs. Output reaches at least 120mW / 1.96V at 32 ohms.
The GO pod Max also incorporates JVCKENWOOD's K2HD processing. iFi describes K2HD as technology designed to reconstruct harmonic information lost during digital processing, with the GO pod Max extending digital throughput to 96kHz.
Interchangeable ear loops provide compatibility with detachable-cable IEMs. 0.78mm 2-pin and MMCX connections are included, with A2DC, T2, and PentaconnEar options available separately. Buyers should confirm their IEM's connector type before purchasing.
For everyday portable use, the GO pod Max provides IPX5 water resistance, touch controls, built-in microphones with Qualcomm cVc noise suppression, and approximately seven hours of battery life from the pods. The charging case extends total use to approximately 35 hours and supports both USB-C and Qi wireless charging.

The charging case also incorporates four UV lights designed to help reduce harmful bacteria on IEMs between uses—an especially practical addition for earphones worn directly in the ear.
Lossless Bluetooth with aptX Lossless
The Qualcomm QCC5181 platform supports aptX Lossless for CD-quality lossless Bluetooth audio when used with a compatible source device. LDAC, LHDC/HWA, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX, AAC, and SBC provide additional wireless options.
Actual codec selection depends on the capabilities of the transmitting device.
Automatic Impedance Matching
The GO pod Max automatically detects the connected IEM and selects between 16Ω, 32Ω, 64Ω, and 300Ω impedance settings.
This allows the system to adapt its output to IEMs with different electrical requirements without requiring the listener to configure the output manually.
K2HD Technology
Developed by JVCKENWOOD, K2HD is designed to reconstruct harmonic information lost during digital processing. In the GO pod Max, iFi states that K2HD extends digital throughput to 96kHz.
Interchangeable IEM Connections
The GO pod Max includes 0.78mm 2-pin and MMCX ear loops. Optional A2DC, T2, and PentaconnEar connections expand compatibility with additional detachable-cable IEMs.
Charging Case with UV Lights
